John D. Wallace, DDS, MD is a board certified Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeon and a native Texan. He started his college coursework at age 16 through the Texas Academy of Mathematics and Science at the University of North Texas, then transferred to UT Austin for biology. He earned his dental degree from UT Health San Antonio, graduating Summa Cum Laude with research honors, and his medical degree from UT Southwestern Medical Center. Dr. Wallace completed both general surgery and oral and maxillofacial surgery training at Parkland Memorial Hospital, then a fellowship in craniomaxillofacial and orthognathic surgery at the Posnick Center and Georgetown University Hospital.
Mitch McKnight, DDS, MD is also a board certified Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeon, born and raised in Dallas. He studied biology at UT Austin and earned his dental degree at Baylor College of Dentistry, where he received awards in oral and maxillofacial surgery, TMJ treatment, dental implantology, and research. He completed his oral and maxillofacial surgery training in New York City and earned his medical degree at New York Medical College. Dr. McKnight has deep experience with trauma, corrective jaw surgery, wisdom tooth removal, and total TMJ reconstruction. He has applied that work on medical mission trips to Guatemala, his grandparents' native country, and currently serves on a surgical committee for a hospital in San Lucas Toliman.
Restorative and biointegrative dentistry depends on a strong surgical foundation. When a Redefine Dental patient needs an extraction, wisdom tooth removal, dental implant placement, corrective jaw surgery, or a TMJ surgical evaluation, Dr. Darya Timin works alongside trusted oral surgery partners so the surgical phase and the restorative phase line up from day one.
Partnering with a hospital trained, board certified team like Dallas Oral Surgery Associates gives Redefine patients real confidence when an advanced procedure is needed. Surgical planning is built around the long term restorative result, sedation options are available for anxious patients, and the handoff back to the Redefine team for the crown, bridge, or implant restoration phase is clean and coordinated. The shared goal is the one that drives Dr. Timin's biointegrative approach: a healthier mouth that supports the rest of the body, not a fix in isolation.
